01 How it works

Look ma,
no browser!

This isn’t another WebView. It turns your React components into native Slate widgets. You get all the speed of Slate with all the power of React.

InReact Native components
  • <View>
  • <Text>"Awesome Game"
  • <View>
  • <Text>"Continue"
  • <Text>"Settings"
  • <Image>

We built a new out-of-tree platform  on top of the React Native C++ core that translates React into fully native Slate user interfaces and packaged it as an Unreal Engine plugin.

The plugin connects your React code to all of Unreal’s systems natively, without any overhead from a browser.

It works on PC, macOS, iOS and Android with support for consoles coming soon.

02 Familiar

You already know all the basics.

It’s just React Native and Unreal.

Bring your View, Text, Image and Pressable, StyleSheet and flex layout. Use it with Metro and your favorite package manager.

You can combine it all with the magic of shaders, in-world actor components, render targets and photorealistic 3D graphics in Unreal Engine.

Skill treeNew Game+ · skills carry overSkill points 1

Two branches meet at one node. Seven React Native skills and seven Unreal Engine skills, drawn as learned: whichever side you come from, one branch is already yours. Both lead to Add to Viewport, which costs one skill point. Beyond it, the two join into one branch, RNUE: eight topics from the docs, not reached yet.
